Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 1, 2026
The short version: Gecko Comp does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All audio processing happens entirely on your device.
Overview
Gecko Comp is a one-knob audio compressor for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It is available as a standalone app and as an AUv3 Audio Unit plugin for use in compatible hosts such as GarageBand and AUM.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Gecko Comp does and does not collect, and how your data is handled.
Data We Do Not Collect
Gecko Comp does not collect any personal information. Specifically:
- No audio recordings are stored or transmitted
- No usage analytics or telemetry are collected
- No account registration is required
- No identifiers (advertising ID, device ID, etc.) are collected
- No data is shared with third parties
- No internet connection is required or used
Audio Processing
All audio processing in Gecko Comp is performed entirely on your device in real time. Audio signals are never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. The app processes audio solely to apply compression — the signal passes through and is immediately discarded.
App Settings
Gecko Comp stores your settings (such as knob position and output trim) locally on your device using standard system storage. This data never leaves your device.
Apple Frameworks
Gecko Comp is built using Apple's standard frameworks (AVFoundation, AudioUnit). These frameworks may be subject to Apple's own privacy policy, which you can review at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Children's Privacy
Gecko Comp does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes in any meaningful way, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new date. Since no data is collected, changes are unlikely.
